Lets Invade Malacanang Palace of the North :D

I have never been to Malacanang Palace before, I'm not even sure where it is located! ahaha. I was able to visit The Mansion in Baguio and that's it! But when my mom told me that there is a replica of the Malacanag Palace located in Ilocos Norte I was very eager to go there! My mom said it was called Malacanang Palace of the North and was built during the Marcos Regime.

Located in Paoay Ilocos Norte and behind the house you can see there the historical Paoay Lake. The house maintained and they even developed some mini museum inside. Care to join me for a tour? :D

I really enjoy visiting a certain place when Im with my mom and dad, SAD that my sister is not with us since she has work...

See how big the house is? Oooh. I want to have a house like this!

Entrance of the house...

There is an entrance fee going inside. I think it is 50 pesos for adults? I don't remember but i think it is around that rate. I believe they use the money for the maintenance of the place. Honestly when I'm with my Mom and Dad I tend not to indulge with payment matters since they pay for everything when I am with them. Lols.

My mom arranging the entrance fee for all of us. See thats why I love my mom :D

After the payments is settled you will now be escorted by one of there tourist guides. I believe they are volunteers here since aside the the entrance fee, the tourist guide is free. They will tour you around the house as well as to give you fun facts about the place. I asked him one question that he did not manage to answer. Honestly I was very curious indeed if how much did this house cost. Disappointingly the tour guide did not now the answer. SHAME :(

Tour Guide: Ma'am/Sir, Kindly stick together and lets start shall we?

The guide started showing the rooms on the first floor. There are a lot of rooms here, the other guest rooms was turned into public CR and Souvenir Shops but the other rooms was maintained and preserved.

The first room on the first floor, Sen. Bong Bong Marcos

Imee and Irene Marcos Bedroom

Masters Bedroom

Aside from the rooms that was showed to us, I also love the office of the late president Marcos. It was maintained and preserved and all the books that late President Marcos is also displayed on the room. There is also a mini museum connected to the office that can be seen once you entered, Honestly I was a bit confused of where we will exit. Believe me the house is enormous.

President Marcos Work Table. Isn't it beautiful?

One of the greatest contributions of Marcos during his time...

What are you looking at guys? :D

Mini Museum- even my nephew Ivan is enjoying :)

Ferdinand Marcos was tagged as one of the Strongest Men of Asia during his time.

Mrs. Imelda Marcos's Filipiniana worth Millions. AHW!

What I like about the tour guide is that he gives facts and of course fun facts! He saw me always looking at the mirrors. What can I say, I'm vain! lols. According to the guide, mirrors in the house is believed to provide you an enhanced image! haha! You heard it right, it would make you look young, thin. good looking! in short it would make you look good!

I tried some shots on the so called good looking mirrors, lol

On the second floor you will see there the function hall, dining area, receiving area and the veranda where you can see the famous Paoay Lake. When I got on the second floor I can't help but admire the so called Materiales Fuertes furnitures they have. There are also a lot of table and chairs and a spacious area if the family have functions. There are also paintings displayed made by famous artist of there generation.

Receiving Area on the second floor...

One of the paintings that caught my eye is the famous Paoay church, one of the Uniesco Heritage in Ilocos Norte

Loooong Table at the dining area. The guide said that when Marcos have meetings before this is where they usually do there addenda of the day.

Fun Fact:  According to legend the Paoay Lake that you can see as a view on the Malacanang of the North used to be a village. The village was said to be home of rich people on the area but  vanised after a heavy rain, then it became a lake. Legend says that fishes in the said lake has aritos/earings and has some tribal markings.

Such a relaxing view...

As the tour ends, something caught my attention as we go downstairs. It is indeed a very nice view to have a picture. I asked the guide where the STAIRS (yes you heard me right!) is made from. According to the guide, it was made from a NARA tree and he added that all tourist that visits the house fell in love with the stairs too. This is were tourist take pictures more often.  So I asked him to take a picture of us. :D

Can you blame me for not liking it? Neat huh? :D

1,2,3 say STAIRS :D

Yey! that was tiring huh? unfortunately as much as I want to stay and sleep here I cant! ahaha. Hope you enjoyed peeking to one of the houses of the Late President Marcos. Until the next house visit :D Bye

  1. The balcony facing the lake is breathtaking. I would want to just pull some couch or just make myself a hammock and sleep there all day long (serious!)

Ang drama nung stairs! Parang sa mga pelikula pag bumabababa `yung bidang babae. :D

I bet they do some of the tapings/shootings here if they wanted to make it seem that it's being shot at Malacañang Palace.
